We help you
help your parents.

Otto is a voice-first AI companion that helps your parent handle everyday things — groceries, email, calendar, rides — just by talking. And it always keeps you, their family, in the loop.

No app to learn. No menus to get lost in. Just a conversation — with a human (you) always one step away if Otto needs help.

The problem

Your parent built a full grocery cart online — and couldn't check out. That story is more common than you'd think.

The apps and phones your parents need to stay independent were built for everyone except them. When something doesn't work, the fix usually falls on you — another phone call, another drive over, another evening spent troubleshooting instead of just visiting.

61 million

Americans are 65 or older today, and that number keeps growing.

16 million

older adults live alone, without in-home help of any kind.

How it works

Just talk. Otto takes it from there.

No app store, no menus, no accounts to remember. One button, a natural conversation — and the task gets done, or it comes straight to you.

1 · Say it

"I need milk." "What's on my calendar?" "Read me my email." Otto understands everyday speech, tuned for older voices — even with the TV on.

2 · Otto does it

Builds a grocery cart, reads and triages email, sets a reminder, helps arrange a ride — with a simple confirmation every time.

3 · Family backs it up

When Otto isn't sure, or a task needs a human touch, it hands off to you — the family member who set it up and keeps watch.

Safety & privacy

You're always the backup.

Otto was built by a son for his own 84-year-old parents — keeping them safe isn't a feature bolted on afterward, it's the reason Otto exists.

Family in the loop

Anything Otto isn't sure about — or shouldn't handle alone — escalates straight to you, the family member who set it up. Otto is built to never leave your parent at a dead end.

Never your payment info

Otto never stores card numbers, passwords, or PINs. It hands off to trusted apps — like Kroger or Uber — for anything that touches money or accounts.

Your family's data, private

Each family's information is completely isolated from every other family on Otto. Nothing is ever shared or mixed between households.

It doesn't keep what it overhears

Otto listens only to help. Background sounds it mishears are dropped immediately and never written down — only your parent's real requests are ever remembered.

Billing never touches your parent

The subscription is yours to manage — your parent never sees a price, a card screen, or a paywall. Even if a payment problem ever comes up, your parent can still talk to Otto and reach you.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What does Otto actually do?

Otto is a voice-first AI companion for older adults. Your parent just talks to it — for groceries, reading and replying to email, checking the calendar, getting reminders, and getting a ride. If Otto can't handle something, it brings you in.

Is it hard for my parent to learn?

No app to install, no menus to navigate. Otto is one button and a conversation, tuned for older voices and for people who aren't comfortable with technology.

Will it work with the TV on?

Yes — that's exactly the room Otto is built for. It's tuned to pick your parent's voice out over a television or background noise. And on the rare time it mishears the room instead of your parent, Otto simply stays quiet rather than answering the TV — so it never gets stuck talking to the room. When it's not sure, it says nothing at all.

What if Otto gets something wrong, or can't help?

Otto is built to never leave your parent at a dead end. When it's unsure, or the task needs a human, it escalates to you — the family member who set it up — instead of guessing.

Is my parent's information safe?

Yes. Otto never stores card numbers, passwords, or PINs, and every family's data is kept completely separate from every other family's.

What does it cost?

Otto is currently in early access, and we haven't set general-availability pricing yet. When Otto opens up, it will be a simple monthly subscription paid by you — the family member — with a free trial to start. And one promise is built in from the beginning: a billing problem is never your parent's problem. Your parent never sees a price or a payment screen, and if a card issue ever comes up, that's between you and us — your parent can always still talk to Otto and reach you.
